ABOUT ME.
I am a London-based composer, producer and multidisciplinary artist working across theatre, recorded and live music, and cross-cultural collaboration. Drawing on a wide range of musical traditions, my practice brings together electronic, classical and global influences, shaping a voice that is stylistically fluid and emotionally direct.
My works have been performed at theatres and festivals across the UK, and major venues including the Southbank Centre, St John’s Smith Square and Saffron Hall, and broadcast on BBC Radio 3. My early work includes the comic chamber opera WATCH ME, described by The Times as “Brilliant: like a humorous dream”, while my music has been noted for its “vibrant yet dark” character (York Press). With a foundation in vocal and operatic writing, developed during my studies at the University of York and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, my work continues to move between genres and forms.
Together with my partner Kiran SKG, I am a founder of Śūnya Company, a platform for South-Asian-infused intercultural performance. As Artistic Directors, we have created works that foreground collaboration across traditions. These include: aKRODHA, a commission from ZeroClassikal which extrapolates Indian classical raga through a contemporary ambient lens; and Goodnight Maharajah, an experimental musical based on the life of Maharajah Duleep Singh (1838-1893) which was awarded Arts Council and PRS Foundation funding.
Alongside my composing work, I am an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, specialising in saxophone, and perform as part of the duo Boubakiki. My wider credits include collaborations with artists across genres, from electronic and hip hop to contemporary classical. In 2020 I represented the UK in the Earth Orchestra project with Decca Records (“a magnificent achievement” - the i).
I am a highly experienced facilitator and educator, leading creative projects with organisations including English National Opera, Royal Academy of Music, Royal Museums Greenwich and Spitalfields Music. My work often centres on underrepresented voices, with particular experience working with SEN(D), refugee, and LGBTQ+ communities. Since 2017, I have been a Director of Woven Gold refugee choir, and have developed a long-term partnership between the award-winning charity Music Action International and LGBTQ+ support group Rainbows Across Borders. This collaboration focuses on creating new music through deep, participatory processes, while supporting pathways into arts careers. I also mentor emerging facilitators and workshop leaders through a range of organisations, and offer consultancy in project development and the nurturing of emerging talent.
Across all my work, I bring a clear artistic identity to projects that connect diverse musical worlds, with a spirit of curiosity and joy in exploration.
